Photo: press service of IradenergoThe installed capacity of the Toktogul hydroelectric power station is now 1,440 MW. Each of the four generating units has been raised from 300 to 360 MW; the fourth unit returned to service in September.
On 10 October the Minister of Natural Resources, Chingiz Asanov, reviewed the completed works at the switchyard and the National Dispatch Centre together with members of the joint technical commission.
The General Director of Iradenergo, Toktosun Baitikov, thanked the engineers and operators of the station, many of whom have worked at Toktogul since the 1990s. The refit does not change the volume of the reservoir or the release schedule.
